Hit the exact size a form demands

Job portals, visa applications and government forms love arbitrary limits — "photo must be under 100 KB". In target mode this tool binary-searches the quality setting to land just under your number, and if even minimum quality is too big it scales the dimensions down until it fits. No guesswork, no re-trying.

Nothing is uploaded. Most free compressors send your photos to their servers. This one re-encodes with the canvas API on your device — safe for IDs, documents and family photos. Bonus: re-encoding strips EXIF metadata (including GPS). For lossless metadata removal, see the EXIF Remover.

JPG, WebP or PNG?

WebP is typically 25–35% smaller than JPG at the same quality and works in all modern browsers — the best default for the web. JPG is the safe choice for strict upload forms and older software. PNG is lossless and keeps transparency, but files are much larger — use it for graphics, not photos.

Frequently asked questions

How do I compress to exactly 100 KB?

Pick "Target file size", enter 100, drop the image. The tool finds the best quality that fits, shrinking dimensions only if needed.

Are my photos uploaded?

No — everything runs in your browser with the canvas API. Nothing touches a server.

JPG or WebP?

WebP is ~30% smaller at the same quality; JPG is safest for old software and picky forms.

Does compressing remove metadata?

Yes, re-encoding drops EXIF including GPS. For lossless stripping use the EXIF Remover.
