How GPA is calculated
Each letter grade maps to grade points on the 4.0 scale (A = 4.0, B = 3.0, and so on). Your GPA is the credit-weighted average: multiply each course's grade points by its credit hours, add them up, and divide by total credits, so a hard-won A in a 4-credit class counts more than an A in a 1-credit elective.
